John Francis Hoover, 69, of Danville, passed away at 12:23 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at home. He was born on May 7, 1949, the son of William Austin and Elizabeth Louise Mcfadden Hoover.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joseph Hoover. He has one brother, Larry Hoover, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and one sister-in-law Jayne Hoover Ocker.

Surviving to mourn his passing is his best friend of 23 years, Wilma Bush, four daughters, Tina Noble of Oakwood, Tia Hoover of Tilton, Tija (Mike) Long of Danville, and Christie Bush of Danville. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Andrea Hoover, Andrew Swick, Adam Long, Alora and Alyssa Swick; and four great-grandchildren: Logan, Tate, Julian and Kingston.

John worked at R & S Printing for 30 years in Shipping and Receiving. He also drove and made deliveries for the company. After they closed, he worked at Masterguard in Veedersburg, Indiana, until having a stroke and heart attack.

John loved going to watch his brother drive in Demolition Derbys, watching NASCAR, and learning all he could about the Bible. He was a quiet man, with a big heart, and would help anyone that he could. He was a big animal lover, from his German shepherds to his favorite cat, “Fella.”

A celebration of John’s life will be held at Crusaders Church, 1128 North Gilbert, Danville, Illinois, on Sunday, February 3, at 4 p.m. , Pastor Tom Myers officiating.
