Chico Socorro Villagran, a pillar of strength and love within his family, passed away peacefully on March 21st in Paxton, Illinois, at the age of 94. Born on November 17th, 1929, in El Paso, Texas, Chico’s life journey was marked by love, dedication, and a zest for living.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara Sue Villagran (Vincent) for 51 years, a partnership characterized by mutual respect, devotion, and unwavering companionship. Chico’s legacy as a father extended beyond blood ties, as he embraced and cherished his role as a stepfather to Jerry, Gary, and Michael Stanley. His love and guidance enriched the lives of his stepsons, fostering bonds that transcended mere family ties.

Grandfather to five cherished grandchildren - Jeremiah Stanley, Brandi McCabe, Jonathan, Catelin, Camaren, and Makenna Stanley - Chico found immense joy and fulfillment in their presence. His love knew no bounds, and he took great pride in witnessing the accomplishments and growth of each grandchild. Chico was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Jude and Eleanor Stanley, and Brynn and Ashlyn McCabe whose laughter and innocence brought him immeasurable happiness and warmth.

Professionally, Chico was a visionary entrepreneur, dedicating over three decades to building a thriving computer business in Joliet, Illinois. His passion for technology was matched only by his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. Through his business acumen and determination, he left an indelible mark on the industry and the community he served.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Chico had a passion for driving that knew no bounds. Whether embarking on cross- country adventure or simply cruising the streets of Chicago, he found solace and joy behind the wheel.

In 2022, Chico made the decision to relocate to Paxton, where he embraced a quieter, more serene lifestyle. Despite the change in scenery, Chico’s commitment to his family, his values, and his passions remained steadfast.

Chico will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the unwavering love he showered upon his family and friends. His memory will forever remain a beacon of inspiration and love to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Chico Socorro Villagran’s legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife Sue Villagran and son Gary Stanley. May he rest in eternal peace. I miss you and love you.
