Judith Carol Boman passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 19, 2024. She was born December 11, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri to Bonita and Robert Keller. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, George Lukert, along with her four siblings.
Judy later graduated from Buckley Loda High School in 1960 and a year later from beauty school. She married Linden Russell Boman on August 19, 1961. Judy chose to stop working in a salon but continued to moonlight as her children’s hairstylist, as evidenced by several interesting school and family photos. Mom’s proudest achievement was raising three children and preparing many wonderful meals as well as keeping a lovely home and growing a bountiful garden with her family. She returned to work later in life and was the information desk supervisor at Market Place Shopping Center for ten years prior to her retirement.
Judy and Linnie celebrated 60 years of marriage prior to his death in 2022. She is survived by her son, Colby (Tina) Boman, daughter, Lindsey (David) Wieneke, and son, Jeremy (Erika) Boman as well as granddaughters, Laney Wieneke and Shay Boman, and grandsons, Colton Wieneke and Deacon Boman. She is also survived by her two sisters, Joan Wofford and Aletha Kalish as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linnie, and two brothers as well as her parents. As a mother and grandmother, she instilled in all of us a love of reading, keeping our attention through her beautifully engaging voice. She had a great imagination and passed this joy of make believe on to all of us as children. She enjoyed drawing, woodworking, reading, all types of music, scary movies, black cats, Native American culture, and most of all her family and friends.
Mom was a beauty inside and out and seldom left the house unless she was looking her very best. We are all fairly certain that she kept the Lord waiting while she perfected her hair and makeup for her entrance into Heaven. She will be forever missed and always loved for her compassion, humor, cheeseburgers, fried chicken and especially her loyalty and dedication to her family. Her favorite place was home with all of her family in it.
The family will host a memorial service on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 from 1-4 pm at the Monticello Community Building located at 102 E. Livingston St. Monticello, IL.
