Abbey Lynn (Spezia) Vice

Abbey Lynn (Spezia) Vice peacefully passed away at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.  She was born in Danville, IL on February 22, 1979, to Michael and Lynn (Tovey) Spezia.  Abbey married Matt Vice in Ridge Farm, IL on December 25, 2015.

In her growing up years, she enjoyed reading, being in Brownies, all types of dance lessons, cheerleading, playing the clarinet and the organ, and above all had a passion and genuine gift for art.  She attended Westville schools and was a Westville High School graduate of the Class of 1997.  She later received her associate’s degree in graphic art design.  Abbey had a special gift for baking and cooking; her passion for art continued until a few months prior to her passing.

Abbey was preceded in death by her father, Michael Spezia, her paternal grandmother, Karen Spezia, and her maternal grandparents Henry and Carolyn Tovey.

Abbey is survived by her husband, Matt, children, Brodie Garrison and Brooklyn Garrison, stepchildren, Aiden Vice, Isabel Vice and Savannah Vice, her mother, Lynn Hepburn, stepfather, Larry Hepburn, paternal grandfather, Ron Spezia, and stepmother, Jamie Spezia.  Also surviving are Abbey’s brother, Gabriel (Robin) Spezia, stepsister, Meghan Hepburn, special niece, Charlee Spezia, and half-brothers, Anthony and Alex Spezia.  She is survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, friends, caregivers, Ronna Spezia, April Vish, and Candi Smith.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 28 at The Barn at Forest Glen Preserve near Georgetown. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Barn at Forest Glen Preserve. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm.
