Alfonso Romo, Jr. Obituary

Danville - Alfonso Romo Jr. passed away at 2:07 p.m. on Monday July 5, 2021.

Alfonso was born on August 28, 1957 in Brownsville, Texas to Alfonso Romo Sr. and Nellie Gonzalez. He married Mary Jass on January 7, 1974, making her his wife of 47 years. Alfonso was a very hard-working man who was in the oil fields for 20 years. He would always do anything for his family and friends, no matter the cost or the consequence, and was always willing to help those close to him as long as it got them through whatever they needed and it put a smile on their face. Alfonso enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends, napping with his dogs, and watching football, where his favorite team was always whoever was winning. He always knew how to have a good time and how to make everyone around him laugh. He showed nothing but love for his family, even if he got a kick out of pushing their buttons at times, especially his “baby-doll,” his wife.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years, Mary Romo; their three children, Alfonso Romo III, Gera Romo, and Jessica Romo; his five grandchildren, Adrian (Bethany) Romo, Levi Romo, Jordan Romo, Izaih Smith, and Destiny Smith; his four great grandchildren, Ayda Romo, Iris Romo, Jordan Romo Jr., and Ollyver Romo; his five sisters, Mary, Janie, Rosie, Margie, and Nancy; and his two brothers, Manuel and Tony.

He was preceded in his passing by his father, Alfonso Romo Sr.; his mother, Nellie Gonzalez; and his brother, Robert Romo.
