Barry Allan Thomas

Barry Allan Thomas, 71, of Danville, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. He was born December 23, 1952, in Paris, Illinois to Russell Alan and Henrietta Lillian (Potts) Thomas. He married Linda E. Brown on May 30, 1981, in Danville, she survives. He is also survived by his siblings; Debi Thomas of Orlando, Florida, Susan Harvey of Frederica Delaware and Kenneth Thomas and Russell Thomas both of Des Moines, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Center.

Barry was a custodian for Danville School District 118 retiring in 2000. He was a member of Second Church of Christ in Danville. He was a volunteer at Faith in Action, Love, Inc., Donate Life and Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network. He was proud of being an eighteen-year kidney transplant survivor and considered himself to be the Six Million Dollar Man for all of his surgeries. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan and Doxie lover. He enjoyed playing card games and was very much a people person.

A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Second Church of Christ 3550 E. Voorhees Danville, IL with Greg Taylor officiating.
