Betty L. (McDaniel) Jackowski, 90, of Catlin, IL, passed away at home surrounded by her family on October 24, 2019. She was born December 28, 1928 in Tangier, IN. The daughter of Forrest Clifford and Della (Taylor) McDaniel. She married Henry Jackowski in 1947. She was a devoted wife for 62 years until his death in 2009. She will be dearly missed by her three daughters; Judith Jackowski, Connie (Reuben) Seelund and Vicki Gebhart, her grandchildren; Dawn Brown, Angela (Clay) Culpepper and AJ (Bella) Seelund, great grandchildren; Ashby, Carson and Hagan Seelund, Jolie and Rowan Seelund, brothers; Keith (Jane) McDaniel, Wayne (Joanne) McDaniel and sisters; Ruth Callahan and Shirley (Ralph) McCown. Betty was preceded in death by her father and mother, brothers; Donald, Larry and Kenneth McDaniel and sisters; Ailene Hillary and Eshter Lahne. Betty graduated from Jamaica high school as class valedictorian. She worked at the University of Illinois in the admissions department. After moving to Florida, Betty and Henry managed condos until their retirement. In her early years, Betty loved bowling. She was on a bowling league for many years, winning several trophies. She enjoyed reading and telling her Granddaughter, Dawn, about growing up on a farm, telling her family history and stories. She is especially remembered for her great cooking. Betty’s family and friends especially loved her pies and cookies. At Betty's request there will be no memorial service.
