Betty Mae Snack, 95, of Sidell, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 7, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
She was born October 11, 1927, in Sidell, the daughter of Louis and Clara White Burnworth. Betty married Elmer L Snack on November 25 1945. She is survived by one daughter Sherri (David) Phillips and Terry (Lori) Snack. Grandsons Kevin (Molly) Snack, Ty Phillips, Dustin (Katelyn) Snack and a granddaughter Dana (Nathaniel) Pluger. Along with great grandchildren Dalton and Brady Snack, Logan and Bentley Phillips, Silas, Raylynn and Sutton Snack and Colt and Cade Pluger.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 57 years. She was also preceded by a granddaughter Kelly Snack.
Betty and Elmer established Sunny View Farm in 1964 raising and showing livestock with their children and grandchildren. Betty's passion was showing ponies herself. She was co-founder of Proud Horseman 4-H club and served on the Vermilion County Fair Board for several years. She was also owner of Kountry Cooks Catering service. She was a member of the Methodist Church and responded every time she was called upon. Betty never met a stranger and will be missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday September 11, at the Sidell Methodist Church, 202 Chicago St, Sidell, IL 61876 from 11:00 to 1:00. Burial at the Fairview Cemetery in Sidell will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sidell Methodist Church.
