Bonnie Sue Trimble, 89, of Danville, IL, passed away peacefully at home early on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, surrounded by loving family after a brave battle with cancer.
Bonnie was born September 23rd, 1936, to Frank and Nellie Holycross in Danville, IL. She married Norman Trimble Sr. on February 15th, 1964, and he preceded her in death, as well as her son, Joseph Trimble, her daughter, Ruth Landers, and sisters, Shirley Meeker and Carol Zarse.
Bonnie leaves behind daughters, Betsy (Kevin) Crawley, Julie (Danny) Crouch, Melissa Wilson, Georgia (Troy) Eversole; sons, Matthew (Teresa) Trimble, Eric Trimble, and Jacob (Bree) Landers; 10 grandchildren, Corey Crawley and Robbie (Stephanie) Crawley, Kim Crouch, Josh (Mallory) Enos and Jessica (Jeff) Koehn, Cain Hughes, Dylan (Jessie) Trimble, Erica (Blake) Fincher, Joseph Trimble Jr., and Beau Landers; 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Bonnie was smart and kind throughout her entire life. Starting in her school career, she won an art scholarship and was also awarded Best Girl Citizen. She was a dedicated mother and grandparent who valued family over everything and made countless sacrifices for her family throughout her life. She was a very selfless, caring, and gentle woman. She helped to raise generations of children and was the heart and soul of her entire family.
Bonnie spent the last ten years of her life living with her daughter, Melissa, who was her main care giver as Bonnie navigated her illness. Her son, Eric Trimble, rarely left her side and provided unwavering care and companionship. Bonnie’s children were all present to care and help her during her illness, and she had a very strong support system with her entire family.
She loved baseball and cherished watching her children play and cheering them on from the stands and continued cheering on her grandchildren as well. She also loved line dancing and listening to music, especially Willie Nelson.
Bonnie loved her fur babies Willie, Casper and Maggie dearly, and they were her companions through thick and thin.
The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at OSF Hospice care, who were caring and attentive to Bonnie.
A family celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at a later date.
The family would also like to invite anyone to share memories, photos, or messages of comfort on her Tribute Wall.
