Burlin Copsy, 82, of Danville, passed away Friday, June 21, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
He was born August 21, 1938 in Danville, the eldest of three children, to Ellen and Earl Copsy.
He is survived by his son, James L. Copsy, his grandson “Little” James Copsy, his sister Nancy Downing, and many nieces and nephews.
Burlin served in the Navy on the USS Waller. He was a truck driver for many years and was a member of Christian Union Church in Covington, Indiana.
Burlin enjoyed working on his woodworking projects, playing guitar, collecting hats for nearly every occasion, and taking pictures of his three cats, Izzy, Cricket, and Gizmo. He will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Danville National Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 210. Rortvedt Funeral Services & Crematory in Tilton is assisting the family.
