Carol Joyce Bullock, 90, of Danville, Illinois transitioned to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 surrounded by her family.
Joyce was born August 20, 1930 in Rankin, Illinois to Coy Dennis Bennett and Hazel Edith Satterfield Bennett.
She married her one and only love, James William Bullock, June 28, 1947 in Veedersburg, Indiana. She worked alongside Jim as his right-hand man and administrative assistant until their retirement.
She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church until health issues prohibited her from attending. She was a devoted follower of Christ and loved to read, study, and memorize scripture. She and Jim were hospice volunteers in the early days of hospice. She also served in the Gideon’s Ladies auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers: Gary and George, 2 sisters: Jean and Bonnie and her husband of 58 years. Surviving are her children, Conni Jo (Ken) Devore, Jerry “Jud” (Carol) Bullock and Jan Gay (Dennis) Edgington, grandchildren: Lem and Brenda Devore, Nathan, Caleb and Meredith Bullock, Chad, Abram, Mandy, Benjamin, Dara, Bryce and Rae Edgington, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great, great-grandson and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
A private celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church (1632 Georgetown Rd, Tilton) with Pastor Joe Humrichous officiating. There will be a visitation held for family and friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Due to covid restrictions, we will observe the normal precautions.
