Cathryn "Cathy" Jean Vredenburg

Cathryn "Cathy" Jean Vredenburg, 69, passed away on April 23, 2023 at Carle Hospital after a short hard fight with lung cancer.

Cathy was born December 28, 1953 in Danville, IL to Wilma Randall and Bill Vredenburg.  Her father preceded her in death on December 25, 2003.

Cathy worked as a CNA for over 30 years, retiring from the V.A.  She was a member of the Danville Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was very active as a board member, assistant treasurer and song leader.

Cathy is survived by her mother, Wilma Randall of Georgetown, IL, daughter Shelley Whitington of Trenton, GA, a daughter Amber (Todd) Moore of Ogden, IL, a sister Julie Julian-Randall of Danville, IL, a brother Brionne Vredenburg of Mountain Home, AR, a sister Shawn Vredenburg Lyle of Norfolk, VA, a brother Shane Vredenburg of AR, Billie Vredenburg of AR.  Her grandchildren, Charles Eldridge, Alyssa Cierra, Tyler Moore, Tanner Moore.  Great-grandchildren, Christian Eldridge, Ashlynn Eldridge.  Cathy was excited for her third great-grandchild Emory Iris Jones who is expected in June.

A celebration of Cathy's life will be held at 11:00 am, Sunday April 30, 2023 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3825 N Vermilion St, Danville, IL.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations can be made to the Danville Seventh Day Adventist Church.

There will be a reception in the fellowship room following the service.  All are welcome.
