Charlene "Charlie" Roulette, 77, of Danville, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 peacefully in her home. Charlie goes to reunite with her loving husband, Richard Roulette, who preceded her in death in 2015. Charlie was born January 30, 1946 in Danville to Floyd, Sr. and Jewell Lorene (Weddle) DeVoss. Charlie is survived by her caring elder sister Jeannine (DeVoss) Kinney in Texas, sister-in-law Betty DeVoss in Danville, and three loving sons, Leslie (Cindy) Huge in Missouri, John (Sandy) Connor in Texas, Jeffery Huge in Illinois, and three precious grandchildren, Sara Connor in Texas, Kyle Huge in Missouri, and Aaron Burrows in Texas, son of dear friend Gena Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and dear brothers Lloyd, Edward, Robert, Floyd Jr., and Paul DeVoss.
Charlie's lifelong goal was to be a friend and provide service to others. She greatly loved and spoiled each and every Dachshund dog she had, usually named "Maxie", as well as every kitty. Her favorite hobby was cooking loads of cookies and delivering to friends. You could always find Charlie's house by looking for the great assortment of yard displays she enjoyed, often with angels, animals, and plants. Charlie greatly loved her family and pictures placed throughout the house. Before returning to Danville in 2005, Charlie spent many years in Killeen, Texas and greatly missed her friends and family there including the VFW where she loved working and met Richard.
