Charles Nixon Obituary

Charles “Bill” Nixon lost his battle with cancer at his home Monday, February 3, 2014 at 7:40 a.m. Bill was born October 11, 1940 a son of James and Lucille Treadway Nixon. He married his love and best friend, Sharon Fairchild, April 16, 1965, she survives. Bill leaves behind four daughters, Lori (Raymond) Haun of Catlin, Patti (Shane) Elliott of Haggerstown, MD, Donna Watkins of Danville and Sharon Ann (Chris) Bays of Catlin. Also surviving are two sisters, Unita (Harry) Summerlot of Danville and Sue (Bill) Branham of Westville, and a brother, Jimmy Nixon of Tilton. He was Grandpa to nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers, a son Tony Fairchild and a granddaughter.

Bill loved spending time with all the grandkids. He was a great people person, the social butterfly of the neighborhood. He enjoyed the Friday Night poker games with all his buddies. He had a great time dumpster diving, tinkering in his garage and working puzzles.  Bill was employed at ESCO Corp. for 35 years before retiring. According to his wishes, he will be cremated with services at a later date.
