Christian Charles Lathrop

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christian Charles Lathrop, who died on April 16, 2023, at the age of 39. Christian, also known as Silas, was born on January 21st, 1984, in Danville, Illinois to Jeff Lathrop and Traci Speagle. Christian was preceded in death by his gmas Diana and Karla. Gpas Harry and Tim, his uncle Kj, his childhood friend, Michael combs, his Uncle, James Gagnon and his stepfather, Troy Brooks. He is survived by his parents, Traci Speagle of Tilton and Jeff (Sylvia) Lathrop of North Carolina, his only daughter, Izabella Grace, his God children, Brittany & Joshua Holt, his Grandson, Christopher Ryan Short, his 9 siblings, Jeffery (Kami) Lathrop of Danville, Jessica (Derek) Elliott of Danville, Troy Brooks of Tilton, Brandon (Amanda) Brooks of Covington, Bryan Brooks of Georgetown, Nolan Brown of North Carolina, Chet, Nick and Nolen Speagle of Illinois, his 2 nieces, Brylie Lathrop of Westville and Alex Elliott aka Lexi of Danville and 3 nephews, Breyton Lathrop of Westville, Kaiden & Jaiden Elliott of Danville his aunts, Kelli (Jim) Angor of California, Kim (Kelly) O’Brien of Westville, Mechele Paree of Danville, Tia (Terry) Herrington of Charleston, IL, his Uncles Mickey Gagnon of Westville and Stan Lathrop of Westville, his cousins Josh (Ashley) Paree of Texas, Heather (Devon) Kinzie of Indiana, Jenessa (Shaun) Fredrickson of Illinois and many lifelong Friends and Family and cousins.
Chris loved to be outside and was willing to help anyone. He also enjoyed his job at Flex-N-Gate in Covington, Indiana as a spotter driver. He loved going on the boat fishing with His friend Cody Varner. He loved teaching his nephews how to burn things and how to mow the grass. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday April 23. 2023 at Vermilion Valley Vineyard located at 3733 Poolside Drive, Danville IL 61832 from 4:00-6:30 pm
