Christian D. "Chris" Wood

Christian “Chris” D. Wood, 62, of Georgetown, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023, at home. He was born November 8, 1960, in Decatur to Clarence and Sue (Fletcher) Wood. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Sue of Decatur; sister, Dana (John) Allsup of Forsyth; niece, Erica Aina of Champaign; nephew, Evan Allsup of Palatine; and great-nephew, Emmett.

Chris graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1979. He was a semi-truck driver for Performance Food Group – Thoms Proestler. He enjoyed gardening, grilling, and making homemade salsa for his family. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Cubs fan. His quick wit and sense of humor always kept everyone laughing.

To honor Chris’s wishes, a private graveside service for immediate family will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Graceland Fairlawn Cemetery in Decatur. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association. Online condolences: www.rortvedtfuneralservices.com.
