Dan Petet Obituary

Dan W. Petet, age 73, of Oakwood, IL, passed away Friday, November 26,2021.

Dan married Debbie Dequimpaul on September 2, 1979, and is survived by his wife, Debbie (Dequimpaul) Petet, his children Dan (Scott) Petet of Mesa Arizona, Nicole Petet of Littleton, Colorado, Tara Miller of Salt Lake City, Utah. Grandchildren Zacheriah Petet, Joseph and Megan Hergert.

He will be greatly missed by his brother, Jim Petet of Tampa, Florida, sister-in-law, Jeanne Winland and his nephews, Mark Winland and Jay and Lauren Winland along with his favorite dog Grace.

Dan was born in Danville, IL. to Walter and Lucille Petet on October 2,1948. He spent all of his school years in Danville and went on to own the Clark Gas Station in the late 60’s. 

He then worked and retired after 35 years for the CSX railroad and was honored to be part of the CSX Union and safety chairman. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lucille.  Visitation will be Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Central Park Church of Christ located at 1735 S Washington St, Tilton. Services will be at noon Thursday at the church with Pastor Jim Blue officiating. Burial will follow immediately after services at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridgefarm.

There will be a small gathering at Better Days.

Memorial donations may be made to the animal shelter of your choice.
