It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one, David Alan Davis, of Fithian, IL. David passed away on April 4, 2025 at 12:15 PM, at home surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with liver cancer. David was born on August 8, 1965 to Hubert A. Davis and Karyn Reffett Cordell. He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Kandi Rene Lawrence Davis, who was the love of his life. He dedicated himself to taking care of her and she will be lost without him. Out of this marriage, David gained 2 children, Stephen Hall and Robin Hall Hill of Davenport, FL. He is survived by his mother Karyn Reffett Cordell, siblings, Michelle, (Leo) Jeffers of Fithian, IL., Tom (Tonya) Wynn of Bloomington, IL., Nancy Strader of Oakwood, IL., Peggy (Jerry) Montoya of Cheyenne, WY and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. David had 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren which he truly missed after moving back to Illinois from Florida. Also missing him is his loyal dog, Yankee.
David was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Davis and his second mom, Patsy Davis.
David served 2 years in the Army after graduating from Danville High School. He and Kandi, with kids in tow, packed up and moved to Florida in 1987. David owned his own trucking company and in his spare time, he loved working on cars. He was a jack of all trades! He and Kandi moved back to Illinois in 2022.
David liked watching old western movies, listening to music, and LOVED dirt track racing!! He was an all-out Bobby Pierce fan!! He loved all animals big, or small.
David will be cremated and his ashes buried at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian, IL. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Better Days in Tilton from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
