David Douglas Dittmar

David Douglas Dittmar, 77, of Fithian, IL, passed away on November 22, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on June 4, 1946, in Columbia, Missouri. 

      David married Connie (Crain) Dittmar on November 12th 1966.  David served in the Navy from 1967 to 1971. After his military service, he pursued a career as an electrician at General Motors, where he eventually retired. 

         David is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Connie Dittmar, and their children: Mathew and Shane (Jen) Dittmar, and Melinda (Dustin) Henderson. He was a proud grandfather to six grandsons: Carter, Junior, Gauge, Trip, Sage, and Luca, as well as one granddaughter, Hope. David also leaves behind his sister, Diana (Bill) Longdail, and several nieces and nephews.

According to his wishes, there will be no services.

         David was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Laura (Bloomer) Dittmar, his brother Butch Dittmar, and his sister Paula Torres.
