Denise Hubbard, 38, of Covington, passed away on July 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 20, 1987, to Dennis and Linda Huston, Denise was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, aunt, sister, and friend whose kindness touched countless lives.
Denise was a 2005 graduate of Covington High School. She spent her life compassionately caring for others, working for many years as a CNA before later becoming a daycare provider. Helping people wasn’t just what she did, it was who she was. She was always the first to step forward, lend a hand, and make others feel seen, cared for, and supported.
She forged treasured friendships and participated in or hosted groups for activities including paint nights, book club, book exchanges, wrestling viewing parties, New Years Celebrations, art days and a multitude of playdates for kids. She loved beach excursions in Michigan, thrift shopping, perusing used bookstores, coffee and day trips with her sister, Megan. She was the ultimate champion in any "Name That Tune" competition. Denise had a gift for creating joy and connection.
Denise was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Glenna Verhoeven; and her paternal grandfather, John Huston.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved daughter, Ann-Marie; her loving husband, Justin Hubbard; her parents, Dennis and Linda Huston; her sister, Megan Murray (Michael Jessie); her grandmother, Alberta Huston; and her nieces, Angel Applegate, Kyndall Murray, and Kynsley Hughes. She also leaves behind many cherished extended family members and dear friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing her.
Denise was fiercely loved, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 6:00 pm at the Stringtown Church of God in Covington, Indiana. Fellowship to follow at the VFW also in Covington.
