Dick R. Lamb went to be with the Lord November 15, 2019 at 5:37 a.m. at home surrounded by his family.
Dick was born in Martinsville, Illinois on February 27, 1941 to Kenneth and Algene (Foster) Lamb. He married Linda Inman in Martinsville on April 29, 1961. They were married for 58 years.
Dick retired from General Motors after 42 years working in Danville, Shreveport, LA, and Wentzville, MO. He had his private pilot's license and in his younger years enjoyed drag racing and motorsports. Dick attended First Baptist Church in O’Fallon, MO prior to moving to Danville in August. While living in Catlin he was a member of the Westville Church of Christ serving as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. Dick also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dick was an avid Bears and Cubs fan.
He was preceded by his parents, infant daughter Kristi, grandson Brandon Lamb and brother Robert Lamb. Dick is survived by his wife, daughters Sandy (Carl) Becker and Debbie (Jim) Owens, grand-sons Dustin (Rachel) Sinks, Camron and Connor Owens, great grand-daughters Jaden Sinkes and Kaylee Lamb. Also surviving are a brother, Bill Lamb. Dick will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pastor Kevin Cox will preside over a celebration of life that will be held at the Catlin Church of Christ on Sunday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation from 1:00 PM to beginning of service.
