Duane Bedford Carey, 67 of Champaign, Il passed away peacefully at Carle Foundation Hospital on January 20, 2026, at 8:40 p.m.
Duane was born to HB Carey and Nila V. Larrance Carey on September 5, 1959, in Norwalk, California. He attended school in Ventura, California before moving to Illinois in 1973. He attended Jamaica High School and graduated in 1977. He learned auto body at VOTEC and was a well-known auto body technician in the area.
He married Jackie Kepling, though divorced she survives along with two daughters, Miranda Carey of Lombard, Il and Emily Carey (Cameron Shull) of Fairmount and grandson Austin Ingram of Carbondale, Il., one son, Colton (Kaylee) Carey of Farmer City and Grandson Mason.
He is also survived by one brother, Byran (Jenn) Carey of Sedona, Arizona and two half-brothers, Sean Steck, Zane Steck and one half-sister, Michelle all in California and stepmother Louvena Carey of Glasgow, Ky.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, one sister Lorena Carey Moffett and stepfather Micheal Steck of Bakersfield, Ca.

Private services will be held with private burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola at a later date.
