Earl William “Bill” Phillips, 71, of Tilton, IL, passed away October 18, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 11, 1954, in Danville, IL, to Harry Lee and Frances Louise Phillips.
Bill worked at Ball Metal for 42 years; there he obtained numerous certificates and advanced to leadership. He was a very methodical man.
Bill was an honest, sacrificial, hard-working man who dedicated his life to providing a stable loving home. He was the epitome of a father figure and a patriarch full of wisdom that will forever be missed by his family.
Bill was an avid fisherman extraordinary storyteller with a dry sense of humor. He also spent many years in several different bowling leagues.
Bill married his wife, Brenda, on January 14, 1978, and enjoyed 47 long loving years together. He loved his kids, grandkids and great grandkids dearly and took loyalty very seriously.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason; parents, Harry and Frances; and his brother, Steven.
Bill is survived by his wife, Brenda Phillips; daughter, Kylie; grandchildren, Alizyaih, Brooklyn, and Skylar; and great grandchild, Leilani.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Songer Cemetery, 14450 Songer Cemetery Rd, Tilton, IL 61833.
