Elaine Bradford Obituary
Elaine Bradford, 67, of Danville, IL passed away at 12:35 a.m. on Friday April 5, 2019 at OSF Heart Of Mary Medical Center of Urbana,
she was surrounded by family and loved ones.
Elaine was born March 6, 1952 in Gholson, Mississippi to Oscar Lee & Mammie (Langford) Stennis.
She married Arlandis Bradford Sr and they later divorced but remained good friends, he survives.
Elaine is survived by her only child, Arlandis Bradford Jr. Also surviving are her three sisters;
Janet (Jerry) Feggin, Joyce (Kermit) Taylor, & Diane (Mike) Ownes, two grandsons; Lorenzo Sims & Tyreese Cobb,
four granddaughters; Faith Bradford, Aresia & Arlana Bradford, & Arjenta Bradford; Terisa Hancock, whom she always
said was the daughter she never had and was also her caretaker. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends and
other sons.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and a son.
Elaine was a long time resident of Chicago, IL, before moving to Danville, IL twelve years ago.
Elaine had a "green thumb." Her plants and flowers were her passion. She was an avid collector of elephants
and angels. She had a special love for children, as she ran her own in home daycare. She loved spending time with her
family and especially her twin granddaughters, whom she called her "little rats" and her granddaughter Arjenta, whom
she called her "stinky."
Elaine was a lingerie model for Playboy in her younger years. She also was an avid sports player; she played
baseball, softball and loved bowling.
Elaine was best known for her kind heart, infectous smile and compassionate spirit and she never knew a stranger.
A celebration of life and dinner will be held at the Gao Grotto, Saturday April 20, 2019 at 5 p.m.
