Elaine Lavella (Russell) Lyles

Elaine Lavella Lyles, 78, of Champaign, passed away Monday, March 16 at BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Illinois. She was born February 17, 1948 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania to Arther and Frances (Morris) Russell. She is survived by a sister, Vicki Russell of Arlington, Virginia, two nephews, Marcus Berrios and Todd Berrios, several great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Arthur Lyles and a sister, Teresa Berrios. She will be deeply missed.

Elaine received her Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Illinois. She was a teacher and a probation officer for Champaign County for over 20 years.

Elaine enjoyed reading (especially Sandra Brown) gardening and canning her own vegetables.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Portee Cemetery near Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rortvedt Funeral Services, 3 S. Hodge St. Tilton, IL 61833. Online condolences: www.rortvedtfuneralservices.com.
