Eric Michael Hutson, 42, of Champaign, formerly of Danville, died July 13, 2023 at 1:37 a.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Eric was born January 5, 1981, in Danville, Illinois to Michael Hutson and Debra (Phillips) Toler.

Eric is survived by a son, Evan and a daughter, Alexsa, his father, Michael Hutson, Mother and Stepfather, Debbie and Terry Toler, brothers, John (Reagan) Hutson, Jon (Ashlee) Stonewall, Mark (Amy) Toler and sisters, Mazie Brown, Emilie Stonewall and Marci Johnson, paternal grandparents, Russ and Donna Hibler, loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tommy Phillips, Grandmother, Janet Sullivan and Grandfather, Claude Sullivan.

Eric attended Oakwood High School where he played baseball and basketball. He loved playing in the hockey league in Danville. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing with his daughter.

Eric’s skills were many, fencing, plumbing, flooring, mechanic and business owner. He was currently working for Caterpillar in Champaign.

Eric chose to be an organ donor to help others.

A memorial service will be at Noon Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Second Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to noon Thursday at the church.
