Ethan Shawn Charles Kilgore, 16, of Alvin, IL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 3rd, 2025. He was born on January 21, 2009, in Danville Illinois. Ethan was an intelligent, playful, ornery and creative person, with a passion for making people laugh. Ethan was a loving son to his parents, Jennifer (Daniel) Walton and Brian Kilgore.
As a child, he loved playing with his little toy cars and tractors. He would spend hours lining them up perfectly across the floor. In his youth, he played youth soccer, and football, as well as Jr. High track. Ethan also loved going with Papa or Uncle Brian in the semi, naming off the all the different states or big cities they traveled to. Ethan was a student at BHRA High School. He had a passion for telling dad jokes, making people laugh, and captivating your attention because he always had a good story to tell. Ethan was a dreamer with a thousand ways to make millions (he'll work out the details later). Most importantly, he loved his friends. If you were his friend, you were loved.
Ethan was preceded in death by his father, Brian Kilgore; and grandfather, John Kilgore.
Ethan is survived by his mother, Jennifer (Daniel) Walton; siblings, Adam Welker, Erin Welker, Serenity Walton, Wyatt Walton, Christian Walton, and Anastasia Walton; grandparents, Charles and Linda Cremeens, Pat Kilgore, Linda Fosdick and Milford Quillen; and numerous aunts and uncles, including Brian (Glenda) Cremeens, who lovingly referred to Ethan as tator head.
A celebration of Ethan's life will be held at The Rock Church on Polland Rd, Danville, IL, on Monday, June 9, 2025. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service starting at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rock Church youth program where Ethan was a member. Online condolences: www.rortvedtfuneralservices.com.
