Ethel Kay Kingore

Ethel Kay Kingore, 62, of Danville, IL passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2025. She was born on October 19, 1962, in Danville, IL.

Ethel went to Danville High School, then took some college courses at Danville Area Community College. She went on to help and teach children in the community throughout her entire life. She was a daycare provider with Miss Christy for many years, and taught children at the Center for Children Services for 5 years. Ethel then went on to teach full-time at Community Action Headstart for 14+ years. For the last 6-7 years, she’s helped the elderly of our communities with Help at Home, as well as helping operate the Tilton Laundry Mat. She truly lived a life of helping and teaching the young to old.

 Ethel married Larry Kingore on June 25, 1999, and they spent 26 loving years together. They enjoyed fishing, taking rides around the neighborhood in their golf card, watching their favorite show, “The Young and the Restless”, and hanging out and goofing off together. She also really enjoyed helping Larry clean the fish they would catch together and munchin’ on the fish. Ethel also enjoyed sitting out back at their home around a nice big fire together with Cooper, talking late into the night.

Ethel is preceded in death by her grandmother, Ethel Pruitt; mother, Mary Cordrey; loving dog, Cooper; and her cat pack, Momma, Sweet Pea, Roach, and ZippZoo.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Kingore; two grandchildren, Jordan and Jase; and her two cats, Bob and Kush.

A celebration in honor of Ethel’s life will be held in the near future.
