Everett “Leon” Webber, 74, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at home. He was born April 20, 1946 in Clinton, Tennessee to parents Rufus and Hiley (Hooks) Webber that preceded him in death. Also preceding him were sisters, Ruby and Gladys, and brothers, Herbert and Earl.
Leon married Nancy Vaughn and together they raised four children: Kristy Conner, Karen (Darin) Troglia, Jeni (Chuck) Newell, and Justin (Holly) Duprey. Leon left behind 10 grandchildren: Matthew and Colin Conner, Jonah and Olivia Troglia, Johnny (Natalie) Jumps, Kali Cast, Hannah and Jacek Newell, Vivian and Evelyn Duprey. Great grandchildren: Jasper and Nayomi Jumps plus many special friends he met throughout the years.
He graduated from Danville High School in 1964. He served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1968 reaching the rank of Petty Officer. After returning home he returned to school at DACC where he received his associates degree in science. From there Leon worked at Hyster for 21 years, Holmes Brothers for 10 years, and finished his years with Illinois Department of Transportation (I.D.O.T.). He sang bass with Harvest City Boys for ten and a half years. Furthering his love for his Lord and Savior, ministry, and musical passion. Leon was a hard worker, spending most of his free time with family or in his garage. There you could find him in his element always fixing or creating.
Per Leon’s wishes, he was cremated. Visitation will be held at Hillary Assembly of God, 19454 N. Henning Road, Danville, IL on Saturday, April 3, from 2-5 p.m. Private graveside services will be administered at the V.A. with Military Rites at a later date.
