Floyd W. Scott, Sr., 92, of Oakwood, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. He was born November 28, 1931 in Hillery, Illinois to Charles Leslie and Nealda Scott. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ruby (Ollis) Scott and three sons: Floyd W. Scott, Jr. of Oakwood, Terry (Shelley) Scott of Clarkston, Washington and Les (Bridgette) Scott of Auburn, Kentucky and a half-brother, Martin Scott of Arkansas, eleven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and a brother, Donald Scott.
Floyd was a Christian and member of Catlin Church of Christ. He was a truck driver for over forty years. He loved his family and enjoyed being a mechanic and working outside. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Catlin Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 210. There will be a gathering after the burial at Catlin Church of Christ.
