Frances (Lanter) Phillips

Frances Phillips 94, of Tilton, IL died at 1a.m. Thursday, November 14,2024 at Accolade Health in Danville. She was born July 11,1930 in Georgetown, IL the daughter of John Mitchell and Frances Ann Donaldson Lanter. On July 24, 1953 Frances married Harry L. Phillips. He preceded her in death on June20, 2012. Frances was known as Tilton’s Lunch Lady. She enjoyed bunco, poker, fishing, golfing and reading a lot of books. She was very talented at quilting. Frances was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She loved eating her pizza with an ice-cold bud light. 

Surviving are her sons Bill (Brenda), John, David (Charla), and Brian (Dana). Frances had 27 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Frances will be missed by many, especially her 2 lifelong friends Nancy and Rita. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Steve, brother Jerry, Sister June, daughter-in-law Rhonda, and 2 grandchildren Jason and Jaime. 

We are deeply grateful for the loving care provided by her granddaughter/caregiver Kylie throughout Frances’ illness. Also thank you to a family friend Dinea for all the help at the beginning of her illness.
