Frank L. (George) Cook, 64, of Danville Illinois passed away at 10:38 pm at OSF Medical Center with family by his side. He was born July 21, 1955 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Leonard Virgil and Dorthy (Drake) Cook.
George was happily engaged to the love of his life, Linda Cotten. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by his two very special stepdaughters from a previous marriage. Carla Wright-Elkin and Jackie McQueen also his grandchildren and great-grandchild. Cali Wright, Cadi Wright, Kylie Elkin, Kenzie Elkin, Chelsea McQueen, Garrett McQueen, Hannah McQueen and Lana Davis.
Also loved and missed dearly by his sisters Goldie Emery of Danville, Lisa (Arvil) Cox of Danville and Valerie Richards of Westville.
He was very close to his Nephews and nieces; Joe (Penny) Carpenter of Danville, Mark (Wendy) Carpenter of Danville, Corrina (Michael "Moose") Hardin of Danville and Cody (Amanda) Carpenter of Danville.
George had many great and great-great nieces and nephews that loved him dearly as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers David Cook and Billy Richards and by his sister, Sarah Carpenter.
George was a man that never knew a stranger just people he hadn’t met yet. He was a very loving and kind soul willing to help anyone in any way he possibly could.
George worked for Kelly Vault for several years. He was also a farmer and a truck driver for many years.
He will be missed by all that knew and loved him!!
A very special thank you goes out to Robert Billot for being such a good friend to him for all those years. Also a special thank you goes out to Jason and Sharon Cotten, Duane Rodgers, Steve and Kim Cotten, Tammy and Josh Troxetell for not only being there for their mother but also for accepting George into their family and for being there for our family as well in this very sad time in our lives.
Graveside services for George will be held Monday Feb.10, 2020 at 2 pm, at Songer Cemetery.
