Gina Marie (Abney) Balsamello went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 15, 2022. She was born in Danville, IL on July 3, 1967 to Doyle and Fannie Mae Abney, both preceded her in death. 

Gina was a graduate of Danville High School in 1985. She lived most of her life in the Westville, IL area and was employed with District 118 at Garfield School in Danville and then at Southwest Elementary School in Tilton in the Food Service Department. Gina was also a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and loved spending time with her friends and family, and she was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild.

Gina is survived by her son Vince Balsamello (Heather Winkler),  sister Sara (Kim) Duncan, her partner Tony Boyer, niece Brooke (Elisha) Stanford, nephew Caleb (Ginger) Brown, a great-niece, and great-nephews.

A memorial service for Gina will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Apostolic New Birth Church at 102 W. Williams St., Danville, IL 61832. Rortvedt Funeral Services & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements and burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL.
