After a long battle with pancreatic cancer, Glen Allen Simmons died on August 26th, 2019 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family, in Danville, IL at the age of 61. He leaves behind his wife, Heather Simmons; his daughters Susan (Brett) Wright, Holly Simmons, Dawn (Joshua) Rusk, and Ashley (Jacob) Perry; his son Michael McClanahan; 9 grandsons, 3 grand-daughters, and 6 grand-doggers. Glen was born on August 28th, 1957 in Danville, IL to father Benny Ray Simmons and mother Beulah "Maxine" Simmons who preceded him in death. He grew up in a loving family including 2 sisters, Marie (Floyd) Simmons-Tuggle and Carla (John) Lynn. Before beginning this fight with pancreatic cancer he worked as a security guard but he was a truck driver on and off for over 30 years, during that time he also ran an auto & body shop. Glen loved building haunted houses during his time with the Jaycees- which he was a former president, He was a past member of the Masons-Georgetown Lodge. Glen enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, NASCAR, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with family, friends, and his babies (dogs).
Memorial Services will be held on August 30th, 2019 at Sarge's Tap 2-5 pm. After we will be doing a celebration of life at the same location.
