Glenn Arthur Cronkhite, 70, of rural Danville, Illinois, passed away on February 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of innovation, curiosity, and a profound commitment to helping others.

A Life of Discovery and Innovation

Born in 1955 to Raymond and Ruth Cronkhite, Arthur grew up on a rural Midwestern farm that he considered a "learning wonderland". From a young age, he was a relentless tinkerer. This early passion for technology led him to build a homemade tube tester in the 4th grade—which promptly blew a fuse at school—and eventually blossomed into a 30-year career in the computer and networking industry.

Arthur was a pioneer in his field, designing and installing one of the first fiber optic computer networks in the Midwest at St. Joseph College. Over the decades, his professional journey took him from helping establish a trailer manufacturing company at age 18 to becoming the Director of Training for a large regional bank. He often found inspiration in the world around him and the many mysteries of the universe.

Faith, Family, and Wellness

At the center of Arthur’s world was his wife of 52 years Joyce (Schultz) Cronkhite. Having met at Bismarck-Henning High School, Arthur described Joyce as the love of his life and his "extraordinary" partner whose unwavering support allowed him to pursue his many passions and interests. The greatest of which was raising his family and opening their home and hearts to countless friends who became family. 

In his later years, Arthur’s focus shifted toward holistic health after a personal battle with debilitating back pain. This journey led him to the world of BioResonance and PEMF technology. He became a passionate advocate for natural wellness, authoring a book as a "roadmap" to help others live pain-free lives. When he wasn't exploring the cutting edge of frequency healing, Arthur was deeply engaged in volunteerism, local politics, homesteading, and organic agriculture.

He will be remembered as a man of strong conviction and pursuer of TRUTH, who believed that our words and actions resonate into future generations.

Family

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ruth; his sister, Joanne Mathews; and his brother, Daniel Cronkhite.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce Cronkhite; his children, Heather Cronkhite Key (Chris) of Maumelle, Arkansas, Travis Cronkhite (Valerie) of Evanston Illinois, Christopher Cronkhite (Dana) of Clintwood Virginia, and Rachel Mathews of Danville, Illinois; his seven grandchildren, Savanna, Olivia, Jolie, Adelaide, and Cora Cronkhite, and Aiden and Aven Key, to whom he will forever and always be their “Opa”.

Services

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Tilton Community Center, 612 W. 5th St. Tilton, IL 61833. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Tilton Community Center with Pastor Kurt Flora officiating. Rortvedt Funeral Services in Tilton is honored to assist the family.
