Harold "Butch" E. Cassidy

Harold “Butch” Eugene Cassidy, 77, of Danville, IL passed away on February 16, 2020 at OSF Medical Center in Urbana, IL.

Butch was born on May 27, 1942 in Covington, IN to Kenneth Cassidy and Freda (Coonse) Cassidy.

Butch Cassidy married Sue Cassidy in Clearwater, FL on November 03, 2003. They were married for 15 years.

Butch served in the Army in 1964 and was Honorably discharge in 1970. He retired as a mechanic from Hyster after 40 years.

He enjoyed working in the yard, collecting and working on old cars, meeting the ‘guys’ at Hardee’s for coffee, spending time with family and friends, summer cookouts and spoiling his dogs: Blondie, Brownie, Tanx, Gigi, Mitzy, Gidget and Pepper.

Survived by His Wife Sue (Richardson) Cassidy. His Children Terry Dale Cassidy, Tony Martin, Dawn (Jeff) Bozarth, Scott (Kirston) Remlinger, and Michael (Rachel) Remlinger. His Grandchildren Ashley, Tasha (Jason), Ty (Kim), Stephanie (Lance), Brad, Tia (Romeo), Travis, Trenton (Brittany), Casey (Brittney), Madison, Jakob, Morgan, Kylie, Laci, Eryka, Hunter, Caleb and Bryleigh. 12 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren. Brother Chuck (Kathy) Cassidy. Sister Martha Cassidy and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded by his Daughter Tara Martin and her mother Pat (Parsons) Cassidy. His Mother Freda (Coonse) Cassidy.  Father Kenneth Cassidy. Step Mother Faye Cassidy. His Brothers Tom (Gwen) Cassidy, Monty Gene Cassidy and Kenneth Cassidy. His Sisters Rose (Bob) Pratt and Marge (Ralph) Sharpe.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Memorial service to be held at Sarges Banquet Hall (409 E. Main St. Danville IL) Monday, February 24, 2020 6pm - 9pm.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Rortvedt Funeral Services is assisting the family.
