Hugh “Hughie” Ralton Brooks

Hugh R. Brooks, 63, of Georgetown passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 7:30 pm at home with his family and friends by his side.

He was born April 2, 1956. The son of the late Keith and Ella (Ralton) Brooks. He married Tina Hepburn on November 20, 1981. They were married 38 great years. Survivors include: Wife; Tina Brooks, daughter; Brittany Brooks, grandchildren; Wyatt and Rylan Mosier, son; Chris Messenger (5 grandchildren), brother; Kent (Joyce) Brooks, sisters; Laurie (Doug) Boen and Heather Ruble, and many more family and friends who will miss him dearly. He is also preceded in death by loving grandparents; Vera and Wes Brooks and Hugh and Margaret Ralton.

Hughie graduated Georgetown High School class of 1974. He was employed many years at Zeigler Coal Mine, Nacco and Peebody coal mine. Hugh was a very hard worker and enjoyed spending time with grandkids and watching Cardinals games. Hugh was a member of the Sons of America Legion, the Moose Club, and Eagles Club.

A memorial service for Hughie will be held at the First Church of Christ in Georgetown, IL with Pastor Phil Miller officiating, on Saturday April 27 at 1:00 p.m. with a dinner celebration following at the American Legion Post 203 of Georgetown.
