James “Skip” Anthony Dyke, 66, of Champaign, passed away Saturday, February 18 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Danville, Illinois on December 20, 1956, to Marie Robertson Dyke and Donald O. Dyke. He is survived by two sons, Jesse Dyke of Champaign, and Kyle Dyke of Bloomington, and one daughter, Kelsey Dyke of Ogden. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Carroll (Dan) of Monticello, and Marie Sebens (John) of Bement, and one brother, Tom Gregory of Urbana. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather John Gregory.
After attending Monticello High School, Skip began a long career as a union plumber, eventually retiring from Clark Plumbing. Skip had a love for motorcycles and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He never knew a stranger and was a great friend to everyone. Skip will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
