James Morrison Jr Obituary

James Morrison "Uncle Jim" Jr., late of Danville Illinois, passed away at 6:08 a.m. on November 2, 2023, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center. Despite struggling with multiple health issues, Uncle Jim passed away peacefully in the hospital. James was born on September 20th, 1949, in Danville Illinois.

During his working years, Uncle Jim was a general laborer, and he retired with a hobby of mowing grass for his neighborhood family and friends. James Morrison was a kind and selfless man who was married to his wife Janet for 54 years. He was known for his gentle spirit, goofy and silly nature, and sassy attitude. He had the mouth of a sailor but the attitude of an angel, and was an uncle to all, even his "neighborhood children", especially his buddy Jaylen.

Uncle Jim radiated joy and love and cared for every single person he met. He was a remarkable human being, with a heart as pure and gentle as an angel. He was a man of many virtues, a person who always put the needs of others before his own. He devoted his life to his wife, always willing to go the extra mile to make her happy. They were inseparable, and their love for each other was the envy of all who knew them.

He was a true family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He had a special bond with his children, nieces, and nephews, and they adored him in return. He was always there for them, supporting them through thick and thin, and offering them guidance and advice whenever they needed it.

He had a great love for sweet treats, and his favorite thing to do was to sneak a bite of candy and a drink of his favorite pop (Pepsi). He would often share his treats with his family and friends, bringing smiles to their faces.

He found joy in simple things, like mowing the grass. He was a friendly and sociable person, and he loved to spend time with his neighbors. He would stop and chat with them every chance he got, valuing their company and considering them as his extended family. He was always ready with a smile and a kind word, and he made everyone feel welcome and appreciated.

One of his favorite pastimes was sitting on his porch swing with the love of his life, enjoying the cool breeze and the chirping of birds. He was a man of simple pleasures, but he lived a rich and fulfilling life.

James is survived by his wife Janet Morrison; his sister Bonnie Brewer; and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, James (Mildred) Morrison; his brothers Dean, Sam, Michael "Mike”, and Jerry Morrison (infant); his nephew Michael "Mikey" Morrison Jr.; and his sons Brian, and James "toots" Morrison.

As per his wishes, there will be no services, however, expressions of condolences and other family wishes may be sent to his wife, Janet Morrison.
