Janet Sue (Cox) Winchester, 70, of Danville, passed away peacefully
on February 18, 2021 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Janet was born on a sweltering hot August day in 1950 and passed on a
bitter cold day in February 2021. The birth and passing of this
wonderful woman, however, is not nearly as relevant as all the days and
nights in between that she lived life to her fullest and touched so
many hearts along the way. Words cannot express the amount of
unconditional generosity she gave to anyone in need and was happiest
when she was able to do so! Janet became her siblings’ sole caretaker
at a very early age and continued to thrive in that role till her last
day. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, having a
cocktail sitting out by the pool, chilling at home with her adored cat,
Sopher and always making whoever was near her laugh with her “very
special” sense of humor. Janet is survived by two sisters, Cathy
(Tommy Thomas) Cox and Sue (Cox) Johnson both of Danville, one brother,
Jeff R. Cox of Florida, two daughters, Jessi Winchester of Danville and
Heather (Hogan) Winchester of Springfield, MO, one very special nephew
Cody Ray Cox, four grandchildren Gaige (Shelby) Winchester of Olivet
IL, Rain Hillard, Collin Hughes and Jaron Cunningham and one precious
granddaughter, Denver Winchester. She was preceded in death by both
parents, Walter E. and Norma J. Cox, a sister Judith Bostwick and a
brother, Timothy R. Cox.
Please come join Janet’s family to celebrate her life on Sunday, March
7th from 3~? at Sarges Banquet Hall on E Main St. in Danville IL.
The family would like to send special thanks to the 4th floor nurses
