John “Dan” Wright , 83, of Danville, Illinois passed away at 12: am on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Waters in Covington. Dan often said a lot of my family aren’t blood, but that doesn’t stop love.

Born on October 26, 1939 to Ernest "Pete" Wright and Mildred Watson Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Shirley Wright; brothers: Ernest "Pat" Wright and William "Doc" Wright; sister: Clara Brady; step son: Scott Bland (Debbie). Survived by step sons: Mike Bland (Jackie) and Randy Bland (Stephanie); grandchildren: Scotty Bland (Mariah), Beth Bland, Summer Bland, Missy Duvall, Mike Hunter, Sabrina Bland, Josh Bland; special nephew: Zach Frazier (Michelle); friend: Danielle (TJ) Wright.

Dan worked and retired from Tee Pak. On a typical day, you could find Dan listening to music on his tablet, texting, watching Fox News, and writing in his notebooks. He also loved his visits from his special great granddaughters Julia and Eliza Bland.

Dan will have a private graveside service.
