Joseph G. Carpenter. 67 of Danville, passed away Tuesday, September 19 2023 at Arcadia Health of Danville. Joseph was born June 28, 1956, to George and Lorraine Carpenter, who preceded him in passing. He is survived by siblings George M Carpenter, Karen (Jim) Smith, Barbara (Terry) Guinn, Mary Elliott, Carl (Sherry) Carpenter, and Nora (Robert) Setser. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Joe attended Oaklawn grade school, East Park Jr. High, and graduated from Danville High in 1974. He worked at Rhodes/Burford furniture store for 30 years as their janitor, until it closed. Joe also mowed lawns in the Oaklawn neighborhood for many years. He enjoyed watching wrestling and old westerns, as well as collecting sports cards. He will be remembered and missed by the family. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church 444 E. Main Street, Danville, IL 61832. Fr. Steven Loftus will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Rortvedt Funeral Services in Tilton assists the family.
