Joseph “Joe” Weathers, 72, of Danville, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2020, at home. He was born December 2, 1947 in Fairfield, Alabama to Hazel Morgan and Joseph Weathers. Preceding him in death was his mother, father, sister (Sharon Stibbs) and sister (Gwen (Powell) Weathers).
Joe married Kathy J. Weathers on July 30, 1966 and they shared nearly 54 years of marriage, she survives. Also surviving is his brother Mike (Wendy) Weathers and sister Lura Rose; his children, Joseph Jr. (Little Joe), Carrie (Dave) Milholland, and Bridgette (David) Martin; Grandchildren – Brittany (Jarret) Baber, Brandon Martin, Bradley Martin, Austin Milholland, Taylor Milholland, Anthony “Tony” Weathers, and Kyle Weathers; Great Grandchildren – Adyson, Jett Gregory, and Everly Blake.
Joe retired from Tee Pak after more than 40 years of service. In his younger days Joe loved racing at the Vermilion County Speedway. He probably spent more time fixing his race car than actually racing it. He also enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and spending time with family. Joe was a die-hard Alabama football fan. One of his fondest memories was going to an Alabama football game in Tuscaloosa, AL with his son-in-law and several of his grandchildren. “Roll Tide”.
A private service for the family will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2020.
