Katherine "Kathy" Marie (Tomlinson) Coon

Katherine Marie Coon, 79, of Danville, passed away at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at home. She was born November 28, 1945 in Danville, the daughter of Frank and Elmeretta Tomlinson. She married Raymond E. Coon June 13, 1964 and they were married for 60+ years. He survives. Also surviving is one son, Christopher Coon of Danville, Illinois, two brothers, Mike Tomlinson of Chillicothe, Ohio and Scott Tomlinson of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gene Tomlinson and John Tomlinson and two sisters, Nancy Vaglica and Christina Benstead.

She loved her life with her husband and son. She also leaves behind many loving friends, Diane Strong, Anna Drennan, Claudia Pickard, Mary Ann Galloway, Betty Garland, Janet Chrzanowski, Brenda Sager , Jackie Craft and many others. Her friendships were her greatest joy in life.

Katherine worked many years in Danville as a secretary at DACC, the VA, Central Christian Church and retired in 20107 from the Danville Public Library. She loved the outdoors and travelling. She liked to craft, read and go to rummages and resale shops.

As per her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services. Private inurnment will be at Danville National Cemetery.
