Obituary

Kathleen (Weaver) Buacto, 97, of Danville passed away peacefully on Thursday (September 26, 2019) at Colonial Manor.

Kathleen (Kay) was born  December 17, 1921, in Sidell, IL, to Lester and Garnett (Taflinger) Weaver.  She married the late John Childs, with whom she had two children, Phyllis J. and John R.  She later married Ross Cy Buacto in  Chicago, IL, on November 22, 1947. They were happily married for 52 years, until his passing on August 24, 1999.

She is survived by her two children, Phyllis J. (Bill) Engle of Danville and John R. Childs of Danville; six grand-children Kris (Matt) Swingle, Scott (Holly) Abbott, Lori (Kevin) Allison, Kelli Miller, Penny Fredericks, Tammy (Scott) Talbott, and Eric Childs; several great-grand-children and great-great-grand-children, and other extended family.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents and husband Cy Buacto, and her brother and sister-in-law Keith and Beverly Weaver.

Kay had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.  In her younger days Kay enjoyed golfing, gardening, rummage sales, shopping, doing word search puzzles, and keeping her home neat and clean. She loved spending time with her children, grand-children, great-grand-children and great-great-grand-children.  She also enjoyed spending time with her friends, including her special friends Rosie and Sally.  Kay was an animal lover and had two black cocker spaniels, which were both named "Pepper" that were spoiled rotten.  Later she got her first kitten which she named Angel, who was very special to her over the last several years.  Kay (Grandma) will be missed dearly by her family and friends.  

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Danville National Cemetery.
