Keith Wilcoxen Obituary

Keith Wilcoxen, born November 22, 1934, was a wonderful man who loved his wife, children, and being Poppy.  Keith was an avid mushroom hunter, Cubs fan, jokester, traveler, and giver.  He married Veda (Carney) Wilcoxen on June 27, 1954 and they had 65 blessed years together.  He and his family have been lifelong members at Southside Church of the Nazarene. He was known as the candy man to all the children at church because he always had a piece of candy and a smile to give a child.  He will be greatly missed, but knowing our dad, he is doing a little jig on the streets of gold.  Those who are left to carry out his legacy are his wife Veda, their four children Cheri (Lee) High, Kerry (Kathy) Wilcoxen, Connie (Tim) Drake, Cristy (Stacey) Sackett, 6 grandchildren Tori (Jason) Hill, John (Hannah) High, Derek & Cody Drake, Braden & Brennon Sackett, and 6 great grandchildren Rylynn, Emrie, Candace, Cameron, Lincoln, and Adyline.  On May 16, 2020, Keith went on to live with his heavenly family, his mother Thelma, father Fred, brother Pete, sister Martha Lou, grandparents, several cousins, and friends.  In a world that can be sad and lonely, Keith taught us that God gives Hope, Love, and Forgiveness. Thank you, dad, for what you have taught us.  “We remember you may not have always been right, but you were never wrong”.  Enjoy being in your new home.  We will see you again!  Our family is planning a gathering (‘a happening’) of family and friends at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the family in care of Veda Wilcoxen.
