Laney W Rasberry

Laney Warren Rasberry, passed from this life on Dec 6, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.  He was born on January 9, 1941 in Virden, Mississippi.  His family then moved to Missionfield, Illinois.  He graduated from Oakwood High School in 1959.  After high school he then served in the US Army.  

In November 1968 he married Carolyn Jack, whom he met while working at General Finance in Downtown Danville, Illinois.  Together they raised two children- Jerry and Jennifer.  Warren was a long-time resident of Oakwood, Illinois.  He worked in several different industries during his life - including vice president of sales at Estdad in Danville, and Plastipak in Champaign.  

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading, as well as drinking coffee at the local eateries and discussing current topics with  both friends and strangers.  He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn, mother Pearl, sisters Clementine and Gloria, brother Stevie, and brother-in-law and his best friend Tony Jack.  He leaves behind his son, Jerry, and daughter-in-law Susan Rasberry, which reside in Danville, Indiana,  and their two sons, Luke and Levi.   He also leaves behind his daughter Jennifer and her husband Josh of Catlin, IL.
