Laurence G Weegar

Laurence G. Weegar, 73, of Danville, passed away May 3, 2026. He was born on August 31, 1952, in Iowa City, Iowa to William H. and Ruth Marie Weegar. 

Laurence enjoyed spending his time mushroom hunting, fishing, and cheering on the Chicago Bears. He also liked watching NASCAR, and found joy in taking trips with his friends to watch the race live. He and his grandson, Deven, were both gun enthusiasts and they spent a lot of time enjoying that hobby together. Laurence spent almost 50 years as a concrete finisher working for the Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons Local #143. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Ruth Marie Weegar. 

Laurence is survived by his loving wife, Patty "Sue" Weegar; daughter from a previous marriage, Dorie Lee Newton Weegar; granddaughter, Tera Marie Morton; and grandson, Deven Micheal Newton.

Laurence will be dearly missed by many family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
