Lawrence Lee Goodhue, Jr.
Lawrence (Larry) Lee Goodhue, Jr., 61 of Danville passed away at 7:13 AM on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at home after fighting a two-year battle with cancer. We are thankful to Dr. Rowland and the staff at Carle Oncology team in Danville for all of their exceptional care.
Larry (Goody) was born August 19,1962 in Springfield Illinois. He enjoyed sports from a young age, especially playing basketball and baseball. Larry was an avid Cubs and Illini fan. He had a passion for music, especially Hank Williams Jr. songs. He also loved singing Karaoke and recruiting others to sing along with him. Larry also like writing songs about his childhood. Larry married Judy on July 24, 2018. They were married for the last 6 years but had been together for 41 years. Judy was the love of his life. During their time together they had four canine children (Rudy, Bailey, Sophie, Sadie).
Larry had many occupations over the years. He had 20 years employment at DACC as a custodian and enjoyed spending time with his co-workers. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Lee Goodhue Sr., his brother, Jim James Goodhue and stepdaughter, Tammy Eldridge. He is survived by his wife, Judy Billman-Goodhue, stepdaughter, Tracy (Scott) DeWeese, mother, Carolyn Jean Goodhue, sister, Brenda (Eddie) John, brother, David (Teresa) Goodhue and sister, Clarenda (Travis) Taylor. Larry had several nieces, nephews, and great nephews that he enjoyed watching grow up.
According to his wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial gathering is scheduled to take place on take place on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Potomac Community Center from 2:00pm-5:00p.m.
