Linda Sue Gritten

Linda Sue Gritten passed away July 9, 2021 at Accolade Nursing Home in Danville, Illinois.  She was born August 13, 1948.  She battled cancer for several years and is finally at peace.  She was widowed twice.  Once to Mike Coppell and then to Donnie Gritten.

Linda is survived by 6 of her 7 children.  David (Sharon) Tuggle, James Coppell, Michelle (Randy) Baker, John (Megan) Coppell, Will (Kim) Gritten and Dawn (Greg) Scalogna.  A son Joey Coppell preceded her in death as did her parents, Norman and Dorothy Edinger, and a brother, Gary Edinger.  She was especially close to her sister Mary Lou Stewart who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sister Margaret (Dave) Garland and her brother John (Wendy) Maguire.  Before her death she expressed her deep and sincere gratitude to Margaret for the countless hours of loving care provided before she went to hospice at the nursing home.  Linda had 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  She adored them all.

Before her death Linda was looking forward to being reunited with loved ones who had passed before her.  She was especially looking forward to holding baby Joey and laughing with her sister Mary Lou.  She will be cremated according to her wishes.  A celebration of life will be held at the David S. Palmer Arena in room 123, located at 100 W. Main St, Danville, Illinois 61832 on Saturday July 17th from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Online condolences: www.rortvedtfuneralservices.com.
